Chevrolet and General Motors are launching a new vehicle called the Chevy Volt, a plug-in hybrid powered by a lithium-ion battery.
It will compete with the Tesla Model 3 and will be priced at $57,000 when it goes on sale next year.
The Volt is built on the Bolt EV platform, the electric vehicle platform developed by GM and Nissan, and features a range of more than 300 miles.
The electric car is designed to be a great value when it hits dealerships.
GM is hoping that the Volt will be a good entry point for buyers who are hesitant about buying an electric vehicle.
GM CEO Dan Akerson said in a statement that the new Volt, called the Volt EV, will be an important vehicle to drive in the future.
“We know from experience that electric vehicles are great for business, jobs and people’s wallets.
We believe that we can help build the future of mobility by offering our customers an electric car that is built for the future and for our customers.
We look forward to bringing this product to the market,” Akerson wrote in a post on the company’s blog.
The company’s CEO says that while it’s unclear how many customers will be able to purchase the Volt, it will be “one of the fastest-growing EV models ever.”
The Volt EV will be built on Chevrolet’s Volt platform, developed by General Motors and Nissan.
The battery system is built into the Volt’s body, and the Volt comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The automaker says the Volt “can reach a range up to 300 miles, is easy to operate, and offers up to 8,000 miles of range on a single charge.”
The company is touting the Volt as the “ultimate family vehicle.”
The automakers Volt electric car will be available in 2019.
Chevrolet says it will “deliver a variety of electrified solutions including the Volt Energi, Volt Eco, and Volt Plug-In.
These vehicles will offer customers more options than ever before with greater range, power, and convenience.”
The two automakers have long been involved in developing electric vehicles.
Last year, GM announced that it would build a $1 billion factory in Mexico to produce the Volt.
The Chevrolet Volt will go on sale in 2019, and it will cost $57 (about $67,000) when it starts selling.
