Airport car rental company Cheap Car Rental is offering free car rental deals for the first three months of an airport travel to and from the U.S. The service is offering its first nationwide offer since the government-backed Global Payments Partnership was established to combat fraud and money laundering by airlines and other travel agencies.
The company says it is not charging an annual fee and is working with other carriers to offer similar deals to other airports in the U-S.
“We know we have a lot of loyal customers and this is a great way to thank them,” said company president, Alex Lees.
The program is available to customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Lees said that he is also offering the same deal for customers in Canada.
The offer starts on the first day of January, and will last for the next six months.
Leers said the company will also be offering a discounted rates on the company’s travel to the U, C and D, as well as international flights to and through Canada, for the last six months of the year.
The U.K.-based company, which was founded in 1999, has been operating as a travel agency for a decade.
The government-funded program is a way to crack down on fraud and illegal activity in the travel industry.
The Global Payments Program provides funding for businesses to create and operate their own payment processing systems and also to help them monitor their network for suspicious activity.
It was launched by the U and C governments in 2015 to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
The GPP was established in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization and the U of A in 2019.
