Northwell, Texas, May 14 (UPI) — Northwell is the nation’s largest provider of urgent care and has opened its first emergency care center in a major city in a move aimed at expanding the network of ambulances that is critical to its survival.
Northwell said it will spend $25 million on the new center at the Northwell International Airport, which opened Friday.
The Northwell facility will be a major expansion of the existing facility that provides primary care services, emergency room services and a full-service pharmacy, which has about 2,500 employees, said Northwell President Michael Stokes.
The new facility will also include a full ambulance fleet.
Northwood is located about 70 miles northeast of Dallas.
Northbrook is located in a small town just north of the city of Austin.
The hospital in Northbrook opened in March 2018 and had about 3,300 patients, according to a news release.
Northfield Medical Center opened in the same city in 2016 and has about 8,000 patients.
Northwoods hospital in East Texas has about 4,500 patients and has been operating since 2013.
Northshire Medical Center is in the state’s capital, Austin.
